The premises which usually accommodate children aged three to six years old from the town of Sarrebourg were apparently completely destroyed by flames during the night of New Year’s Eve. The fire apparently started around 11:20 p.m. according to the alert given to the emergency services. All the furniture and educational materials are said to have burned in the fire.
At the microphone of our colleagues from France Bleu, the mayor of the town Alain Marty believes that it is “of a voluntary act“. Mortars and firecrackers were reportedly fired in the vicinity of the building. The Sarreguemines Public Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident and possible responsibilities.
