Today, January 1, La Liga removed Dani Olmo and Pau Victor from the list of players registered for the FC Barcelona season. At the same time, defender Andreas Christensen was added to the squad, which allowed Barcelona to register Olmo for the first part of the season due to the injury he suffered.
As a result, the Catalan club was unable to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. Previously, the courts had rejected Barcelona’s attempts to register players for the second half of the season twice. It was expected they could be registered if a deal to sell VIP seats at the Camp Nou was approved.
However, La Liga released an official statement.
– La Liga announces that as of December 31, FC Barcelona has not provided alternatives which, according to the economic control regulations of the league, would have allowed the registration of a player from January 2, 2025, – indicates the league press release.
Recall that yesterday Barcelona submitted a registration request for Olmo and Pau Victor to the Spanish Football Federation. The outcome of this appeal is still unknown. Due to Olmo’s deregistration, Dani, who was bought in the summer of 2024 for 55 million euros plus 7 million, is now eligible to leave Barcelona as a free agent. Meanwhile, the midfielder’s agent said that the Spanish player has decided to stay with the club.
