How to enjoy 34 days of vacation in 2025 by taking only 7 days off

Until next December, it will be possible by taking some paid leave or RTT to enjoy some great vacation time. Here is the list of days that we advise you to target.

Will the coming year be good for bridges again? The one that has just passed was indeed particularly happy for the employees. In 2024, it was indeed possible to enjoy 40 days of vacation by taking only 12 days of leave.

This year again, several public holidays fall close to a weekend, leaving the possibility of making several bridges. Concretely, by taking only seven days of leave, it will be possible to obtain 34 days of rest in total.

• January 2025: a long bridge to start the year

This is the case with this January 1st which falls on a Wednesday. By putting Thursday 2 and Friday 3, this will allow you to get five days off in a row.

• April 2025: three days without doing anything for Easter

Like every year, Easter Monday is a holiday. A long weekend is therefore possible from Saturday April 19 to Monday April 21 inclusive: three days without stopping anything. It will even be four days in Alsace-, where Friday the 18th – Good Friday – is also a holiday.

• May 2025: three opportunities to bridge the gap

Next come May 1 and 8 both of which fall on a Thursday. By taking the following two Fridays (May 2 and 9), this will allow you to benefit from four consecutive days of rest twice.

As a reminder, May 1st is the only mandatory non-working day for all employees, as Public Service notes. “Work is only scheduled for that day in certain establishments and services (hospitals, public transport, etc.) where work cannot be interrupted due to the nature of their activity.”

The Ascension Thursday will take place on May 29. By leaving on Friday May 30, it will again be possible to benefit from four days of rest. In 2024, May 8 and Ascension Thursday followed one another, thus creating a very long five-day extended weekend. A rare event that will not happen again until 2043.

• June 2025: a three-day weekend if you are unemployed for Pentecost

The Pentecost Monday will be Monday June 9. While it is still officially a public holiday, it can be worked on and/or chosen as a “solidarity day” by your company.

• July-August 2025: two three-day weekends

Summer will offer two three-day weekends without the need to take time off or RTT. July 14a national holiday, falls on a Monday and August 15Assumption Day, a Friday.

• November 2025: three days to All Saints' Day and a possible bridge for the Armistice

No luck for All Saints' Day: November 1st falls on a Saturday this year. November 11thwhich commemorates the Armistice of 1918, will however take place on a Tuesday. By setting aside the previous Monday, November 10, it will be possible to once again enjoy a long four-day weekend.

December 2025: a possible 4-day weekend for Christmas

To finish, December 25 will be a Thursday. By setting Friday the 26th, this will provide the opportunity for a four-day long Christmas weekend. If you live in Alsace or Moselle, this day is already a public holiday.

Other public holidays may exist in a region, a locality or in certain sectors of activity. This is the case, for example, of Alsace and Moselle which also benefit from Good Friday (March 28) and Saint Stephen's Day (December 26). You can consult the details on the Administration website.
