Pedro Ruiz Delgado, former Olympique de Marseille prospect, has made the decision to end his professional career at just 24 years old.

This decision comes after a series of serious injuries, notably to the knee.

A former OM player

Pedro Ruiz Delgado rejoining l‘Olympique de Marseille in 2021 after several seasons spent with the Real Madrid reserve team. The Spanish striker has signed with OM for several seasons, although no contract length has been specified.

However, it was directly loaned to Dutch club from Nijmegen in the Eredivisie for his first season of contract, in order to recover from a serious knee injury suffered in January 2020 and to continue his development.

Repeated injuries

At the age of 20, he suffered a grave rupture cruciate ligaments in his left knee, requiring an operation in January 2020. Although he returned to the field after 21 months, a new injury forced him to undergo a second operation.
