A fire truck that was on a railway was violently hit by a train on Saturday morning in Florida, causing 15 injuries, according to several American media.

The accident happened around 10:45 a.m., CNN said.

Three firefighters and 12 civilians suffered injuries as a result of the collision, the Delray Beach Police Department said in a Facebook post. However, they are all out of danger.

In a video published on X by Brightline, the railway company, the emergency vehicle can be seen crossing the railway tracks after a train passes in the opposite direction. The truck, which appears to be traveling at a slow speed, is the only one on the path.

“The front of the train is completely smashed,” a witness told ABC News at the time of the incident. The fire truck was cut in half, and debris was everywhere.”

Firefighters in the area received a “simultaneous call just before this incident,” Ronald Martin told CNN. However, he did not confirm whether this vehicle responded to this call.

This is not the first time that Brightline has been involved in such an accident. In all, 34 people were killed in similar events from September 2023 to June 2024, according to the Federal Railroad Administration.

Investigations, however, indicated that the company was not found responsible for the deaths.
