As previously announced, the president of the MoDeL, Aliou Bah, was referred this afternoon, Monday December 30, 2024, to the prosecution of the Kaloum first instance court. And, at the end of his hearing, this young political leader was placed under arrest warrant for “insulting the head of state” and taken to the central house of Coronthie where for his detention, noted Guineematin.com through a of its reporters.
Aliou Bah was arrested last Thursday in Pamelap (the border between Guinea and Sierra Leone). After his arrest, he was taken directly to Conakry where he was entrusted to the central direction of judicial investigations of the national gendarmerie. In these places, he was interviewed for hours, before being charged and placed in police custody for “insulting the head of state”.
During the day of Monday, December 30, 2024, Aliou Bah was brought before the public prosecutor’s office of the Kaloum court of first instance where he was also interviewed. Moreover, it was at the end of this hearing that he was placed under arrest and taken to the Coronthie central prison to be detained there.
Remember that the arrest of Aliou Bah sparked a wave of indignation and denunciation in Guinea and internationally. Several voices are still being raised to denounce what they describe as an “attempt at intimidation” and a “liberticidal drift” by the CNRD junta. They also call for the immediate and unconditional release of this young president of the MoDeL.
