It was recovery day for AS Saint-Etienne, this Sunday. The new coach, Eirik Horneland, led his first session. The Norwegian was made official last week, just before the 32nd final of the Coupe de France lost against OM (0-4), which he attended in the stands of the Chaudron. As expected, he arrives with Hassan El-Fakiri (47 years old), who was already his deputy at Brann Bergen and who speaks French very well. ASSE formalized the arrival of El-Fakiri a few minutes ago via a press release but also that of the Italian Andrea Loberto.
Loberto will be in charge of stopped phases
In the club press release, we can read about Loberto: “Alongside Hassan, the Italian Andrea Loberto (50 years old) also joined AS Saint-Étienne. Based in Norway for several years, this Milan native has held numerous positions on the bench of several clubs: responsible for youth teams, assisting at FK Haugesund, Aalesunds FK and SK Brann in 2021, where he worked alongside of Eirik for six months. Assistant to Björn Helge Riise at Stabaek Fotball since 2023, Andrea leaves Norway to join Eirik in Forez as assistant coach of the men's professional team. In particular, he will be in charge of all stopped phases of play.”
