While strong squalls were forecast, due to a storm coming straight from the Atlantic and for which the region is placed on yellow wind-rain-flood vigilance at least until tomorrow Thursday January 2, 2024, Météo-France says “ keep a close eye on the weekend.

A “fierce battle between cold air and soft air”

Nationally, the meteorological institute predicts a good “cold snap for Friday”, which will persist until Saturday. Snow is then expected in the plains, before “a big rainy and windy spell on Sunday”.

In detail, we already knew this, but, for the day of this Thursday, overcast and changeable weather accompanied by scattered showers is looming, with maximum temperatures of 6°C.

On Friday, the mercury will oscillate between 1°C and 5°C. The counterpart: almost no wind and a sun (finally!) shining generously. A little shot of vitamin D not to be missed, because on Saturday the weather should change radically again.

Guillaume Séchet, weather specialist, speaks of a “fierce battle between cold air and mild air”, bringing “possible rain-snow conflicts in the northern regions”.

For Saturday morning, Météo-France forecasts very cloudy to overcast skies. The minimum temperature will be -1°C, which is below the values ​​normally observed. Then it will peak at 12°C. A big gap which could therefore well earn us snowflakes. According to Météo-France, there is a 40% chance (or risk) that snowflakes will fall in the region.
