Testing positive for trimetazidine during an out-of-competition test last August, when she was ranked first in the world, the Pole received a one-month suspension. The International Integrity Agency (Itia) concluded that the offense was unintentional.

“I provided all possible evidence and quickly identified the source of the contamination,” said the 23-year-old.

“I managed to provide the source (of the contamination) quite quickly. “That’s why the case was closed quite quickly,” she added, saying she doesn’t expect an appeal from WADA.

This case recalls that of the Italian Jannik Sinner, current world number one, whose case is the subject of an appeal by WADA after having initially been exonerated by Itia for a positive test for clostebol.
