The Canadian model, who also distinguished herself in the cinema, was found dead in Pennsylvania. The police believe it was poisoning due to a gas leak.

Canadian model and actress Dayle Haddon, known in particular for having built a second career promoting anti-aging creams from major brands, died on Friday December 27. She was 76 years old.

His body was found in the mezzanine of a residence in Solebury, Pennsylvania. According to local authorities, his disappearance could be due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

“(The investigation) shows a defective conduit and a damaged pipe in a gas heating system which caused the carbon monoxide leak,” declares the police, as relayed by CNN.

Another man of the same age, Walter J. Blucas, was found “lying unconscious,” according to the release. He is currently hospitalized in critical condition. According to CNN, this is the father of actor Marc Blucas.

“An inspiration for many”

Dayle Haddon’s only daughter, Ryan, paid tribute to her on Instagram. In the caption of a series of retrospective photos of Dayle Haddon’s life, including covers of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle on which she appeared, Ryan wrote:

“She was a woman of power, but she was gentle and attentive to all. Deeply creative and curious, beautiful inside and out. Always kind and caring (…) She was the greatest champion for everything the world, and an inspiration to many.”

Breaking down the doors clauses

Born May 26, 1948 in Montreal, Dayle Haddon enjoyed success as a model in the 1970s and 1980s. At the same time, she pursued her acting career in front of the cameras of Just Jaeckin (Madame Claude, The Last Romantic Lover), Philippe Labro (Crime), Élie Chouraqui (Words and music), José Pinheiro (The Roses of Matmata) or even Woody Allen (Celebrity). She has also starred in television series including The Traveler et Max Headroom.

Woody Allen, unavoidable… except in

As Sky News reports, Dayle Haddon distanced herself from the modeling world in the mid-1970s after giving birth to her daughter. When she re-entered the sector in 1991, after the death of her husband, she initially encountered obstacles:

“They told me, ‘At 38, you’re no longer viable,'” she told the New York Times in 2003.

She then set out to convince cosmetics companies to enter the anti-aging cream market. A strategy that allowed him to sign contracts for Clairol, Estée Lauder and L’Oréal.

She also distinguished herself through her humanitarian commitment by creating WomenOne in 2008. An organization that promotes girls’ access to education in disadvantaged countries, such as Rwanda, Haiti and Jordan.
