Memories – Too many icons have bowed out on both sides of the Atlantic
The seventh art has lost many of its pillars in recent months, leaving generations of movie fans orphaned. The year had barely started when David Soul, the unforgettable Hutch from the cult series Starsky et Hutchdied in London on January 5 at the age of 80. A month later, it was the turn of Carl Weathers, eternal Apollo Creed of the saga Rockyto leave peacefully in his sleep at 76 years old.
The summer was particularly cruel for Hollywood with the disappearance in July of Shelley Duvall. The Wendy You May Have Prayed For While Watching The Shining passed away at the age of 75 following complications related to her diabetes. The same week, it’s Shannen Doherty, star of the series Beverly Hills et Charmedwho died at just 53 years old after a long battle with breast cancer. In August, independent cinema lost one of its greatest figures with the death of Gena Rowlands at the age of 94. We still have to pay tribute to the memory of the timeless Donald Sutherland who died on June 20 at the age of 88.
