With Ballerina and a John Wick 5 Already confirmed, the saga led by Chad Stahelski is not about to end. It remains to be seen if Keanu Reeves will be there… Warning, spoilers on John Wick 4.
The franchise John Wickit's one of the big gooses that lay the golden eggs of the Lionsgate studio, also burdened by a string of failures in recent months. Although the eponymous character passed away at the end of the last part, there is therefore no question of him abandoning it. From June 4, Ballerinathe second spin-off of the saga (after the series The Continental) will be released on our screens, with Ana de Armas in the lead role.
Len Wiseman's film (at least officially) obviously had huge production problems, but it should definitely star Wick. Keanu Reeves was clearly the star of the trailer, citing all the components of the saga one after the other. However, it was not announced to the casting of the mysterious “fifth part”confirmed as is by Joe Drake, a Lionsgate official. And according to the main person concerned, his return depends more on his abilities than on his will.
John Wick too weak
The death of John Wick does not necessarily imply the end of the character. Indeed, director Chad Stahelski revealed thatit would not be a direct sequel. This fifth film therefore has the chance of telling another part of the rather eventful life of Baba Yaga. If he murdered 439 (true figure!) people once he retired, imagine his score at the peak of his activity.
The actor never closed the door to an additional component, but he never announced that he would automatically accept either. He explained in particular to Empire that he needed the guarantee of Stahelski's return behind the camera and that he was waiting to see the proposed project, anxious to leave his character to his finally found peace. But another obstacle stands between him and the role: the condition of his knees. This is what he responded to CBS News when asked if there would be a John Wick 5in full promotion of Sonic 3.
“You should never say never. My knees right now are saying, 'I can't do another John Wick.' So my heart can, but I don't know if my knees can. »
It goes without saying that the production of John Wick is particularly physically demanding for the stuntmen, but also for the actor, who trained extensively in order to carry out the long choreographies which have made the reputation of the saga, becoming more and more ambitious with each opus. Reeves is now 60 years old and therefore perhaps does not have the strength necessary to get back on track. By the time he chooses between his heart and his legs, he may be the star of satire The Entertainment System Is Down performed by double palmer Ruben Östlund.
Finally, as Stahelski announced to The Hollywood Reporter, other spin-offs of the franchise are in “active development”including one dedicated to Caine, the character played by Donnie Yen. Death is therefore not the end, very far from it…
