The 43-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested while driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol. This Thursday, December 26, he was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment.

He was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment with continued detention, in addition to the confiscation of his vehicle, the cancellation of his driving license, prohibitions on coming into contact with his ex-partner and staying in the department of Hérault for 3 years, indicated the public prosecutor Raphaël Balland.

He was arrested on the night of December 23, in , by police officers from the Agde police station, in his vehicle, when he had just threatened his ex-partner in front of the latter’s home and he had hit a friend of the couple in the face. The accused had resisted his arrest and had insulted and threatened the police all the way to the police station where he was checked with 1 mg of alcohol per liter of exhaled air, the equivalent of 2 grams in the blood. He admitted all the facts during his police custody and admitted to having a problem with alcohol and narcotics addiction.

This man, already convicted 12 times between 2000 and 2023, was presented to the Béziers public prosecutor’s office on December 24 and placed in pre-trial detention by the judge of freedoms and detention.
