Formula 1 | Verstappen attacks 'social media idiots'

Max Verstappen claims that “idiots” on social media have described her relationship with Lando Norris during the 2024 season as worse than reality.

Verstappen and Norris have been good friends off the track since they met in karting more than a decade ago, but they experienced their first F1 title fight this year.

The pair clashed in Austria in June before controversial incidents in Austin and Mexico in October, when Verstappen came under increasing pressure to maintain his championship advantage.

Verstappen then won a fourth consecutive title after a crucial victory in Sao Paulo, before finishing ahead of Norris at the Las Vegas GP where he was crowned champion.

“People always make things so much worse on social media. There are a lot of idiots on this platform who always have something to say, something to complain about.”

“There are a lot of positive people, but also some real idiots. I think it's best to ignore all that.”

“Lando and I get along very well. Of course, there were moments of a bit of tension on the track, but off the track it shouldn't matter. We always try to do our best on the track. track to obtain the best possible result.”

“We are fighting for the World Championship. I think it's normal that this kind of thing happens, but we get along well.”
