The NFL had landed a royal headliner for its first halftime concert at a Christmas game. A very successful mini-Super Bowl with Queen B!
Still more in the show! To compete with the NBA (basketball) and its Christmas monopoly, the NFL, the US football league, struck hard by giving a taste of the Super Bowl with a Beyoncé show during halftime of the Houston-Houston match. Baltimore.
And for this first, the NFL offered itself, this Christmas evening, an XXL show with Beyoncé headlining. A native of Houston, Queen B delivered a 15-minute mini-concert during the match broadcast live on Netflix.
Arriving on a white horse, the Texan singer delivered a hyper-stylish and lively live performance essentially built around her latest album “Cowboy Carter”, nominated eleven times for the next Grammys, a record.
For this first live performance in 4 years, Beyoncé was accompanied by a troupe of dancers, including her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, a local university marching band and a few guests, including rapper Post Malone.
Blue Ivy Carter, 12, joined Queen B for the finale of this landmark concert.
As a reminder, this year, the Super Bowl will take place on February 9 in New Orleans and rapper Kendrick Lamar will perform the halftime show. This Christmas, Beyoncé set the bar high. It’s up to the rapper to take up the challenge so that the Super Bowl show remains THE benchmark of the genre.
