They have become essential in the conflict in Ukraine, on both sides of the front. Drones, so destructive – they are said to have caused 70% of human and material losses – and capable of striking tens of kilometers from the front lines, have disrupted military doctrine and relaunched the technological battle.
Faced with this permanent danger, the Russian army has published a best practice guide for soldiers. There we find a series of instructions for dealing with FPV drones, small machines carrying 1 to 2 kilos of explosives, particularly formidable on the battlefield.

Tips for not being spotted
The manual details the potential threats, including around twenty offensive tactics of these FPV drones, controlled, as we recall, thanks to a controller and a headset which give the sensation of being on board the device.
The second part of this guide lists the behaviors to adopt to avoid being spotted: movement, the light of a cigarette, a campfire, cell phone screens… all kinds of clues likely to guide the pilot remotely. He also learns to spot the sounds emitted by these drones.
Recommendations which, however, can become obsolete very quickly since on a technological level, these formidable machines evolve very quickly.
