A year 2024 marked by illness. As usual, King Charles III spoke to the British people in a message for these end-of-year celebrations. He took stock of what he experienced throughout the year and obviously returned to the illness which affected him and which affected his beautiful daughter, Kate Middleton. In February, the royal family announced that Charles III was suffering from cancer and a few weeks later, it was Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton, who also revealed that she was suffering from cancer.

The king and his daughter-in-law stopped official outings for a while before resuming their duties. Kate Middleton also announced in September the end of her chemotherapy. The king has not communicated on the subject. “I extend special and sincere thanks to the dedicated doctors and nursing staff who, this year, supported me and other members of my family through the uncertainties and anxieties associated with the illness, and gave us strength , the care and comfort we needed“, he declared in his end-of-year speech before adding: “I am also deeply grateful to all those who kindly sent us words of sympathy and encouragement“. Charles III, however, was not finished with his treatment.
Charles III will continue his cancer treatment in 2025
Although he has resumed a good part of his activities, Charles III must still continue to undergo treatment to cure his cancer. But according to those close to him, the king is quite optimistic for the year to come. His treatment has “evolved in a positive direction and, as a disease under control, the treatment cycle will continue next year“, assured our colleagues from Sky News a few days ago. Fortunately, Charles III can count on his family who support him through this ordeal and who will stay by his side throughout the year.
