Jacques Villeneuve said he had an “absolute pleasure” working with Sky F1 in 2024, and added he would be “happy to do more” appearances in the future.
The 1997 world champion has worked in Formula 1 media for more than a decade and first joined the Sky F1 team at the Canadian Grand Prix in June, before doing so again in Azerbaijan in September.
Villeneuve is known for his outspoken opinions on Formula 1 and is therefore appreciated by broadcasters. Having been a long-time consultant on French channel Canal+, he has also worked with Sky Italia in recent years and now in English with the Sky F1 team in the UK.
“I’ve been having fun doing TV for over 10 years with Canal Plus, I worked with Sky Italia and in 2024 I worked with Sky UK. I really had a blast! It was so much fun, it ‘was a great band but a very good band.’
“I was surprised by the openness of the conversations. Whether you agreed or not in the conversations, it made you think. Regarding next year, of course, I would be happy to do more with them. “
Villeneuve’s former Williams teammate Damon Hill has confirmed he will leave the network at the end of the 2024 season, having joined Sky in 2012.
“It’s been a fantastic 13 years with Sky Sports F1, but all good things must come to an end,” a dit Hill.
“I will miss the most impressive group of professionals I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I look forward to new challenges.”
