Donald Trump intensifies his statements
The American president, Donald Trump, has decided to relaunch forcefully. In a series of new messages on social media, Trump attacked the Channel Panamacontrolled by China, issued an “invitation” to Canada to become the 51st state of the United States and reiterated its desire to have the Greenland as part of the American territory.
Panama and China in the crosshairs
Trump has criticized the Chinese administration that runs the Panama Canal, accusing it of exploiting the canal to the detriment of the United States. He also appointed Kevin Marino Cabrera as U.S. ambassador to Panama, noting that the country is “robbing us on the Canal far beyond its wildest dreams.” Trump highlighted Marino Cabrera's work as Florida state director and member of the Republican National Committee.
“Canada, join us”
In another attack, Trump called on Canada to become the 51st U.S. state, promising tax cuts for citizens and greater military protection. He mentioned a meeting with Canadian hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, suggesting he could become prime minister of Canada. Trump urged Canadian citizens to support a movement to elect Gretzky as the country's leader.
Greenland, a strategic objective
Finally, Trump reiterated the importance of Greenland to US national security. He sent good wishes to the island's people, stressing that the United States is needed there and will be present. Trump has insisted that Greenland is a key element of US security and has expressed his determination to want it as part of American territory.
