They go back another year
In the third quarter of 2024, the prices of old housing in France vary only very slightly by -0.1%, after six quarters of decline (-0.5% in the second quarter of 2024 and -1.5% in the first quarter of 2024) .
Over one year, they fell for the fifth consecutive quarter with -3.9% in the third quarter of 2024, after -4.9% in the second quarter and -5.2% in the first quarter.
In the provinces, prices also almost stable
Prices of old housing in the provinces are also almost stable (-0.1%), after five quarters of decline: -0.4% in the second quarter of 2024 and -1.3% in the first quarter.
Over one year, they fall in the same proportions as at the national level with -3.4% in the third quarter of 2024, after -4.2% in the previous quarter.
House prices: it depends on the location
In the provinces, the drop in prices remains more marked for houses (-3.6%, after -4.4%) than for apartments (-3%, after -3.8%).
While in Île-de-France, it decreases for apartments (-0.3%, after -0.6%). This is the case in Paris and the inner suburbs.
In the outer suburbs, apartment prices are falling after virtual stability in the second quarter of 2024.
After seven quarters of decline, house prices in Île-de-France are increasing slightly (+0.4% in the third quarter of 2024, after -1.3% in the second quarter).
A volume of transactions that continues to decrease
At the end of September 2024, the number of transactions carried out over the last 12 months is estimated at 780,000, after 792,000 at the end of June 2024 and 825,000 at the end of March 2024.
