The investigation into a murder that occurred at the end of last November in Clermont-Ferrand has seen a recent twist in Catalonia.
A man in his thirties was found dead on November 30 in Clermont-Ferrand. The victim was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head in a home on rue Dulaure.
The investigations carried out by the Clermont judicial police have recently seen developments in the Catalan country, according to The Mountain.
On December 12, a suspect was arrested in Barcelona, specifically in the historic Ciutat Vella district. This arrest, carried out on the basis of a European arrest warrant issued by the Clermont magistrate in charge of the investigation, was confirmed to our colleagues by the Clermont-Ferrand prosecutor. The case could be linked to drug trafficking.
The suspect, a 33-year-old man believed to be of Algerian nationality, is expected to be extradited to France within the next 40 days.
The public prosecutor also reveals that a first individual, also of Algerian nationality, had been arrested; another individual had been apprehended in Perpignan on December 6. Transferred to Clermont-Ferrand, he was indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention.
