While a new Miss France will be elected this Saturday, December 14, 2024 live on TF1, thus succeeding Ève Gilles, the editor of Serieously invites you to discover which region has to date the greatest number of victories since the creation of the beauty contest in 1920. Be careful, you may be surprised!
This Saturday, December 14, 2024, TF1 will not offer a new bonus of the Star Academy – exceptionally postponed to Friday December 13 – but the 95th edition of Miss Francebroadcast live from the Arena Futuroscope in the Vienne department. Thirty young women are competing to succeed Eve GillesMiss France 2024, and thus win the precious crown. An event which, like every year, should bring together millions of French people.
On this occasion, our colleagues from Parisian have established a map of Miss France titles by region since the creation of the competition in 1920. And, to everyone’s surprise, Nord-Pas-de-Calais is (far) from having the greatest number of victories to date.
Île-de-France, the most popular region for Miss France
Comes well ahead the Île-de-France region which, at the time of writing these lines, has won the Miss France competition 16 times. The latest one is none other than Diane Leyrewhose victory dates back to 2022.
In second position, we find tied Normandy and Rhônes-Alpes, with 7 victories each. Then Alsace, Aquitaine, Brittany and the Côte d’Azur, which all have 6 Miss France to this day.
With its 5 victories since 1920, Tahiti positions itself in front Guadeloupe, Picardy, Poitou-Charentes and – more surprisingly – Nord-Pas-de-Calais. For good reason, all these regions have won the beauty contest four times in total. However, it is important to point out that four Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais have been elected since 2015making it the most popular region of the last 30 years.
Which regions have never won the Miss France competition?
Among the territories which have never won the election, there is Auvergne, Champagne-Ardenne, Limousin et Martinique but also Mayotte, Saint Martin and Saint Barthélémy, Saint Pierre and Miquelon as well as Wallis et Futuna. What if 2025 was their year?
See you this Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 9:10 p.m. to watch the election of Miss France 2025 on TF1.
