A house fire broke out this Saturday, December 28, around 2 p.m., in a single-storey house located on rue de la Gare, in Eclaron. Fortunately, the fire caused no casualties. It was the owner, a 77-year-old man, who raised the alarm.
Firefighters from the Saint-Dizier and Montier-en-Der emergency centers quickly went to the scene to put out the house fire as quickly as possible. Thick smoke was released and the fire was quickly brought under control by the emergency personnel, numbering 18, notably with the deployment of the rural tank truck from Montier-en-Der, under the direction of Lieutenant Lannuzel, commander. relief operations. “We managed to save a third of the house,” assured the latter.
Enedis intervened to cut off the electricity, the gendarmerie carried out the usual findings and began their investigation while the chief magistrate Jean-Yves Marin was also quickly on the scene. If the origin remains to be determined, the house fire could come from the chimney. “I was outside, I came inside to warm up. Then, I heard clicking noises in the fireplace insert”explained the resident victim of the fire, who called the firefighters and immediately moved his vehicle parked near the house. The dining room and kitchen were particularly affected.
The occupant had to be relocated in the neighborhood before finding another solution for the coming weeks.
