Fashion is not only limited to fashion shows and galas, it was also present during the inauguration of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral this Saturday, December 7, 2024! Decryption.
This Saturday, December 7, 2024, Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral was finally able to reopen its doors after 5 years of work! And who says big event, says shower of celebrities and important personalities! Some even traveled around the world to be able to attend this long-awaited event. Brigitte Macron, Salma Hayek, Julie Gayet, Mathilde of Belgium, and even Carla Bruni… all were present at the inauguration. And they brought with them a touch of fashion!
As usual, each of them was dressed as they should be. Carla Bruni wore a Dior suit, while Brigitte Macron sported a Lady Dior bag! Here again, fashion was on point. The French house also designed the outfit of its ambassador, the soprano Pretty Yende. She performed in a sumptuous Haute Couture dress with floral patterns, which required no less than 850 hours of work!
But fashion was not only invited to the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris through celebrities: it was also present on the outfits of religious people! In fact, it was the French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac who created these, almost 700 outfits! He said he was inspired by the light and colors of the cathedral. Her colorful outfits feature original patterns reminiscent of stained glass windows!
However, not everyone saw his art in the same way… Many Internet users derided his creations on social networks, likening them to UNO cards, the Google logo, or even that of Microsoft.
To which the stylist replied: “This is the story of my life“, during an interview given to TF1. “Life must regain its playful dimension. We must have Google Chrome, or maybe Windows, or things like that (…) Color is a universal language“, he continued.
In any case, the clothing and accessories designed for the inauguration of Notre-Dame Cathedral will remain exclusively on site and will be worn during official ceremonies.
