During the 2024 end-of-year celebrations, the City of Valves (Morbihan) relaxes the rules regarding paid parking.
Free parking from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Little macaroons bloomed on the parking meters.
Like every year, the municipality cuts corners regarding paid parking. Instead of ending at 7 p.m., this will end at 5 p.m. This initiative is in place from December 1 to December 31, 2024. This concerns streets and parking lots (Trente, Libération, Place du Général-de-Gaulle and Richemont) managed by parking meters.
According to the municipality, there are 2,000 free places less than 10 minutes walk from Place des Lices. We can cite the parking lots of the Palais des Arts, les Capucins, du Commerce, Parc Chorus, Nazareth and even Saint-Joseph.
Promote downtown commerce
This initiative aims to help local commerce. “The goal is to encourage people to come and do their shopping in the city center,” says Olivier Le Brun, deputy mayor in charge of commerce.
Five nights are planned by downtown merchants who will close later on Friday evenings in December.
