During the night from Monday to Tuesday around 1 a.m., a fire broke out in a building located at 1 Montée de la Boucle in Caluire-et-Cuire.
Updated at 7:30 p.m. : The prefecture, in a new report, reports one dead, two injured in absolute emergency and two lightly injured. 47 squatters were temporarily sheltered. “The people involved will be sheltered during which a social and administrative diagnosis will allow suitable solutions to be considered”state services specify.
Update 4:25 p.m.: A body was reportedly located this Tuesday afternoon in the rubble of the burned squat, thanks to the work of dog teams. However, the risk of collapse currently prevents firefighters from accessing the victim, who could be a woman.
Furthermore, emergency services are continuing their search, in particular to find a couple potentially present, but no other signal has been detected by the dogs so far.

The fire in the squatted building was quickly dealt with by 139 firefighters who managed to bring it under control around 3:30 a.m. A security perimeter had also been set up, in particular to facilitate the intervention of emergency services.
Because four occupants of the squatted building were injured, two of them seriously after jumping out of the window to escape the flames and smoke.
In total, nearly fifty people were examined by emergency services and then transported aboard a TCL bus requisitioned to a reception center staffed by the Red Cross.
Search operations must be carried out this Tuesday morning to look for possible victims.
The origin of the fire is still unknown.
