According to a short article in the Japanese magazine Best CarToyota vice president of product Yuki Nakajima said the Celica will be reborn and could make its first public outing as early as next year.
It is obviously much too early to hope to have an overview of the design of this newcomer, or even its mechanical configuration. His possible return to North America would nevertheless mark the end of a long hiatus. Toyota stopped selling the Celica in Canada in 2005.
One thing is certain, we cannot blame Toyota for ignoring driving pleasure with this new project which would complete a very competent range of sports models made up of the GR Corolla, Supra and GR86.
