On December 2, 2024, Donald Trump sent a strongly threatening message to Hamas, demanding the immediate release of the Israeli hostages. Via his Truth Social platform, he warned that if the captives were not released before his inauguration on January 20, 2025, the consequences would be “painful” for the Palestinian group.

Trump expressed displeasure at the inaction of world powers and warned of harsh retaliation if the hostages were not released. While 105 hostages were exchanged for Palestinian prisoners in a deal in November, around 100 hostages still remain detained, and negotiations continue.

Trump also criticized the handling of the crisis by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is under increasing pressure. he also affirmed that those responsible for the atrocities would be harshly punished upon his arrival at the White House.

For more than a year, Tel Aviv has continued its war with the full support of Washington, despite a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cessation of fighting and an order from the International Court of Justice to take action precautions to prevent genocide and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

It should be recalled that the International Criminal Court (ICC), located in The Hague, recently issued international arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity”.

Since October 7, 2023, the number of Palestinian martyrs has reached 44,382 martyrs and approximately 105,142 injured, the vast majority of whom are women and children.
