At 5 p.m., the fire was brought under control, but the Gard firefighters will have to intervene on site for several more hours, this Wednesday, December 4. In the afternoon, a fire broke out at a place called Sinsans, in the town of Calvisson, between Nîmes and Sommières.
Thirty firefighters and ten engines intervened on site to try to save a 220m² agricultural building and prevent the fire from spreading. If it is now under control, it has devastated the entire building.
The intervention should continue for a few more hours under the watchful eye of the gendarmerie, also deployed.
The Gard firefighters are asking the population not to go to the scene so as not to hinder the emergency response. No injuries were reported.
