FOOT AT 6 – Stoppage for the Blues. After a first match won handily, the France team fell on a Polish bone and lost 3-1 before facing Pakistan for the third day.
After their good start to the competition, the Blues wanted to double the lead against Poland who were playing their first match in this 2024 edition. Provisionally at the top of the group, Lucas Asselineau and its partners could consolidate their first place before comfortably watching the match between Turkey and Pakistan. But the French ultimately do not emerge from this opposition calmly.

A reduction in the score too late for France
And for good reason! If Omar Hassidou found the crossbar at the start of the first period, it was the Poles who opened the scoring. Norbert Jaszcak sent a missile to the left side, Luky Staerck was beaten (9′). Again two minutes later, the Polish number 11 once again crucified the French goalkeeper. Much less inspired offensively during the initial 20 minutes than during the clash against Turkey (2 shots on target out of 7 attempted), the Blues fell to a clinical Poland on its three attempts on target.
Very aggressive on the ball carrier, the Poles did not give the French time to build further in the second act. A free kick from Djibril Cisse involved the opposing goalkeeper (27′), Meilhon could reduce the score on a strong center of Colaciccobut no French try found the back of the net. Worse still, the French team was still punished before Nicolas Huertos does not reduce the differential at the end of the match. A 3-1 defeat for the Blues who therefore stagnated at 3 points before facing Pakistan.
