A Nuno departure?
Negotiations around Nuno Mendes' contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain are not going as planned. According to RMC Sport, the different parties have failed to find common ground in recent weeks. The capital club made several proposals to the Portuguese full-back, each time encountering the latter's refusal. As a reminder, the contract of the former Sporting CP player, recruited in the summer of 2022 for 38 million euros, expires in June 2026.
A salary considered insufficient
Still according to information from RMC Sport, Mendes is not satisfied with the salary offered to him by PSG, to the point of even wanting to leave the club. According to specialized sites like Capology, the 22-year-old currently earns 1.4 million euros per year with the reigning French champions. Several clubs are reportedly looking to attract his services, including Manchester United, who have already made an offer and who would not leave Mendes indifferent.
PSG, for its part, still hopes to bring the player back and is not considering his departure in the winter transfer window. This season, Nuno Mendes finally seems to be spared from injuries and continues to play matches under Luis Enrique. He took part in 16 matches this season, including 15 as a starter.
