Last match of the first leg for the Entente which, for the occasion, opened its season at the Des Granges stadium in Vayrac in front of a fairly large audience. The ambition of the “White and Blue” was clear: a victory, if possible improved. By also finishing the first phase with a better total of points in the general classification than last season. You didn't have to wait long to see the scoreboard come to life. On a touch lost by the Montalbanais 10 meters from their line, it was first Dumas who tried to cross the line but without success. Finally, Laumond resists the defenders and flattens (4th). Montauban almost responds on the throw-in, the fly-half slaloms through the defense and scores (5th). The game was then balanced until the 39th minute when during an attack by the locals, a scuffle broke out and the referee issued a red card against the 3rd center line of Montauban. Continuing on, RC Montauban recovers the ball and tries to kick clear from its in-goal but Flamary counters and Dumas takes the opportunity to increase the score (40th).
The extra offensive bonus for the locals
Upon returning from the locker room, the fireworks from both camps will each take a penalty. A period will follow where the Agreement will push forward but without materializing. And on a counterattack, the “Green and White” went all the way up the field and scored a try by one of their wingers (49th). The atmosphere remains tense and the referee tries to calm things down by showing two new yellow cards. The locals resume their domination and find a nice touch following a penalty and a new card against RC Montauban. The Entente starts a penetrating group which collapses just before the line. The referee again penalizes the visitors with a yellow card and the penalty is played by hand. The local forwards concentrate the defense with two picks and go. Then on the opening, Canet scores a try while taking care to do his best to improve the position of the transformation (60th). The Entente has definitely got its hands on the match and is going to conquer the bonus try. On yet another beautiful touch, followed by a good maul which progresses, a new tense episode pushes the referee to send off the two captains. The Entente therefore ended the first part of the championship with a victory.
And now. On December 15, the Racingmen will travel to Saint-Céré (3 p.m.).
