One crime can hide another. This is the lesson to be learned from this affair to the credit of the anti-crime brigade (Bac) of
La Seyne-sur-Mer.
Three individuals were arrested this Thursday evening for a theft which had just been committed on a high-end vehicle parked near the La Seyne SNCF station, we learned from a police source.
The three men were surprised around 11 p.m. by the police while they were loading the wheels of this SUV (BMW X5) aboard a falsely registered utility vehicle.
The SUV was stolen
While trying to identify the owner of the all-terrain vehicle stripped of its wheels, officials realized that the vehicle was also equipped with false license plates.
According to initial information, the SUV had been reported stolen two months ago and now belongs to the insurance company which compensated the complainant.
However, this former owner is part of the trio arrested and placed in police custody for the flagrant offense of “theft during a meeting”… The charges against him should therefore be increased to the count of “fraud” to the detriment of the insurance. .
