The Vert’liberal municipal councilor Gildo Dall’Aglio will be the sole candidate of the right (PLR/UDC/Vert’liberaux) in the complementary election to the Municipality of Yverdon-les-Bains (VD). With the three parties, he announced on Wednesday that he was targeting the seat left vacant after the death of socialist Jean-Claude Ruchet.
“I feel ready. I have experience. I have a good network. I know the municipal administration well, because I was head of the City’s Social Service for 28 years”, explains to Keystone- ATS Gildo Dall’Aglio, who has spent his entire career in the social field. He joined the Municipal Council in 2016 and was re-elected in 2021, the year since which he has been the leader of the Green Liberal group.
The politician intends to lead a campaign focused on defending better municipal financial balance. He also says he is very sensitive to social and mobility issues. He is a member of the initiative committee on Place d’Armes, which requires an underground car park with 1,000 spaces and an exterior redevelopment including green space and meeting area for the population and tourists.
Gildo Dall’Aglio, 72 years old, four children, is the third candidate to announce himself for this complementary election after the former president of the Yverdon UDC, now without a party, Ruben Ramchurm, and the socialist Julien Wicki. The deadline for submitting lists is December 20. As for the election, it is scheduled for February 9 for the first round and, possibly, March 2 for a potential second round.
With a left-wing majority, the Municipality of Yverdon is currently made up of the trustee Pierre Dessemontet (PS), the co-syndic Carmen Tanner (Vert-es), Brenda Tuosto (PS), Benoist Guillard (Vert-es), François Armada ( PLR) and Christian Weiler (PLR).
