In Spain, an explosion kills three people at a factory in Ibi, near Alicante

An explosion left three dead and seven injured on Wednesday, November 27, in an expanded polystyrene production factory near Ibi, about forty kilometers from Alicante, in the south-east of Spain, according to the services of relief.

“A boiler exploded in a company, killing three people and seriously injuring three”said Alberto Martin, emergency director of the Valencian Community, on public television. Among those killed was a employee of the neighboring company, victim of the shock wave, he added.

According to firefighters, the roof of the Industrias Climber factory collapsed as did several interior partitions. Exterior walls were also damaged and numerous plastic crates littered the ground around the company, adds Agence -Presse.

Before the deputies, the Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, expressed “all the support of the Spanish government” to the victims of the accident, as well as firefighters and rescue workers.
