The Société de transport collective de Pierre-De Saurel is proud to announce that it won, in Quebec, on November 21, the Guy-Chartrand Prize Development and improvement of public transport services – general component. This award was given to him by the Trajectoire Québec organization.
The Guy-Chartrand Awards gala honors people and organizations who contribute to improving the sustainable mobility service offering in Quebec. Mobility stakeholders meet annually for the gala to celebrate the best initiatives and practices in public transport.
The STC was rewarded for several of its actions, notably the application of the principle of free transport on the urban bus circuit and the social pricing established in partnership with the Bas-Richelieu Volunteer Action Center and the Self-Help Group. The Gesture. This award also earned him access to an emergency service outside customer service opening hours thanks to an agreement with Taxi Coop Sorel-Tracy and the designation of departures at a fixed time intended to welcome customers. in a wheelchair on express bus routes (reservation required).
The Pierre-De Saurel Collective Transport Company has also expanded its services. The regional taxibus now offers a greater number of departures during morning and evening rush hours and now covers the territory of the city of Contrecoeur in order to promote the mobility of the regional population. The urban bus circuit offers a much fuller schedule, with a number of daily departures which has practically doubled and it now serves the commercial sector of Poliquin Boulevard.
“This award confirms that the MRC of Pierre-De Saurel made the right decision to repatriate the development and management of public transport in 2021 and to entrust them to the STC. We can be proud of the progress of the STC which obtains statistics beyond expectations” reacted Vincent Deguise, chairman of the Board of Directors and prefect of the MRC.
