On March 30, 2024, the investigation into the disappearance of little Émile suddenly accelerated when a walker came across the child’s skull. Since then, the boy’s clothes and bones have been found and subjected to analysis. These made it possible to identify unknown human DNA foreign to Émile’s family..
“It’s a file that is obviously very complex,” recognizes Hubert Bonneau, director general of the National Gendarmerie, guest on RTL. “There are a lot of assessments currently being carried out by experts from the IRCGN, the Criminal Research Institute of the Gendarmerie, who compare the results and study them.(…) The gendarmes, I would like to say, continue to work hard on this file. There are 20 investigators permanently mobilized.
These mobilized investigators are working on the accident theory, but not only that. “We are not ruling out anything in this case. We are dealing with a news item, but behind it, there are families. So the work of the gendarmes is like the case of young Lina. Our job is also to discover the truth so that families can mourn. It is a duty we have towards families. That’s the most important thing,” assures the gendarme.
