For the first time in weeks, the sirens remained silent in northern Israel. Roads that were deserted yesterday, where only a few cars sometimes zoomed past, are now used as if nothing had happened. The ceasefire, announced the day before and which came into force at 4 a.m., appears to be respected. This provides some relief, but no excitement. The inhabitants of northern Israel are worn out by fourteen months of war, they will need more than a ceasefire with Hezbollah to believe in peace.
