For several weeks, the town of Lignières has had a new artisanal company, Souriou Frères.
It is in the village where their roots have been traced for several centuries that Nicolas and Orlane Souriou have chosen to base their roofing and roofing business. Son of a farmer and a teacher, the two young people both chose the path of crafts. One is thirty years old, the other twenty-six. One is a carpenter-roofer, the other is a roofer-zincworker. Both followed the rigorous training of the Compagnons du Devoir in Tours and, despite their young age, have extensive experience within two recognized companies, particularly in heritage restoration, Diard and Pecnard.
Two passionate brothers
« Apart from the prestigious buildings on which we worked, an extraordinary experience was a half-timbered structure made with old wood from Sologne. An old-fashioned technique for which tools and working methods were the same as for our ancient predecessors. But much more contemporary works are also fascinating, such as complete constructions with a wooden frame. », relates Nicolas with enthusiasm.
The young people have already demonstrated their know-how in Lignières by voluntarily restoring the Baigneux path cross a few years ago.
Descendants of the town's blacksmith at the end of the 19the century, Nicolas and Orlane embarked with energy and enthusiasm on the path of craftsmanship.
