It was in the second part of the morning that the explosion of a bottle of acid in the toilets of the Jean Lurçat college in Angers slightly injured three students.
“Around 10 a.m., at the end of recess, explained Philippe Chopin, the prefect of Maine-et-Loire, three young victims who were transported by firefighters to the University Hospital, in not serious condition, but who still required going to the University Hospital.”
The perimeter was quickly secured. “The other students were able to return to class at the end of the morning after this security phase”announced the prefecture.
“We carried out the first analyzes which demonstrated that there was no respiratory toxicity, that is to say that we could stay in this environment, although it was marked, isolated, but there was no has no toxicity proven by firefighters”, reassured the prefect.
It was a homemade device that exploded with acid, and one of the young people was injured by a little acid.
Prefect of Maine-et-Loire
A listening cell will be deployed from Thursday “at the opening of the college as well as support for security through the presence of an agent from the mobile security team of the DSDEN (Directorate of Departmental Services of National Education)” said the prefecture in a press release.
