Ahmadi (Agenzia Fides) – “Vitality, joy, a spirit of communion animated the World Children’s Day that we celebrated here in Ahmadi with the entire parish community”. This is what Father Roswin Pirese, ofm Cap, parish priest of Our Lady of Arabia (OLA) in Ahmadi, told Agenzia Fides about the event that has just ended.

Also known as the “Mother Church” (see Fides 12/4/2024), the first Catholic church in Kuwait OLA celebrated its 75th anniversary (1948-2023) last year. “It was a resounding success,” continues the vicar from Goa. “The active participation of children and catechists highlighted the vitality and spirit of our church. This celebration allowed not only to honor the young children, but also to strengthen the values of the union.”

“A highlight of the celebration was when the children stamped their hands in bright colours on a large canvas, symbolising their unique contribution and presence within the church community. It was exciting to see the involvement of everyone, young and old. We are very grateful to all the volunteer catechists, parents and parishes who contributed to the success of this event and made it a memorable day,” he concluded.

“We are moving towards the future. The mission continues…” Father Roswin said at the closing of the Diamond Jubilee on December 8, 2023.
