In a dazzling display of footballing talent, Olympiakos completely dominated AEK with a crushing 4-1 victory in Sunday’s derby, seizing first place in the Super League, as rivals Aris stumbled in a surprising home defeat to Volos. Continuing in pursuit are PAOK and Panathinaikos, both of whom notched hard-won away victories.

Ayoub El Kaabi shone for the Reds, scoring a hat-trick, while Gelson Martins added a fourth goal to cap off a dominant performance. AEK, however, managed to temporarily equalize thanks to Anthony Martial, but defensive errors ultimately proved fatal. The match saw AEK reduced to 10 men following a straight red card to Erik Lamela, just moments after kick-off.

In other notable encounters, Aris fell to their second consecutive defeat, losing by a goal to nil against Volos, with Mark Koszta striking the fatal blow at Thessaloniki’s Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium.
