Fire in a building in Toulouse: a baby and residents evacuated

Near to the Reyneriehas Toulousethe ground floor of a eleven-story building located on the Vincent d’Indy path caught fire on the night of July 1, 2024.

Shortly after midnight, 20 firefighters intervened to extinguish the fire which affected a scooter and some wastestored in a room in the building “currently being disused”, specifies the SDIS 31.

Significant smoke

“The fire had released a significant quantity of smoke spreading on the facade, details the Haute-Garonne firefighters. But also in the interior common areas. »

Intervention using a hose made it possible to limit the spread of the fire. A total of Eleven premises were ventilated and sanitized, afterevacuation of several residents from the upper floors.

Baby and five other residents evacuated

Six people, including a baby, were brought to safety. They were lowered by the firefighters’ aerial ladder. The fire caused no casualties.

After medical examinations by the Haute-Garonne SAMU, “no person was transported to hospital”, underline the firefighters.
