In the ranking, the Union remains out of the top-6 (8th with 20 points). OHL is 13th and first relegated with 17 points.

Union Saint-Gilloise was held to a 1-1 draw on Sunday during the 15th day of the Jupiler Pro League at Oud-Heverlee Leuven. Sébastien Pocognoli’s players finished the match with ten men after the expulsion of Charles Vanhoutte (72nd).

In an open start to the match, the Union could have opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a shot from Promise David, however well anticipated by Tobe Leysen. An own goal from Leuven captain Siebe Schrijvers, with a powerful deflection of the head on a cross from Franjo Ivanovic, still allowed the Brussels residents to take the advantage (11th). Schrijvers made up for it five minutes before the break by equalizing on a penalty after an illegal tackle by Charles Vanhoutte on Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi (41st). The Union immediately tried to regain the lead but Leysen was once again attentive to a recovery from David (42nd).

The Saint-Gillois continued to attack after returning from the locker room and David thought he scored, but his goal was refused for a foul on Leysen (48th). On both sides, the opportunities were rarer afterwards and Vanhoutte, for a dangerous tackle, received a direct red card, leaving his partners at ten (72nd). The score no longer changed and Union and Louvain each conceded their eighth draw of the first leg, the highest total in the championship.
