A terrible face-to-face confrontation caused the death of a 64-year-old woman on Saturday evening in the small town of Mesnil-Aubry. It was 11:30 p.m. when the collision occurred on departmental road 316. It seems that overtaking was the cause of the terrible accident. A woman driving a light vehicle allegedly tried to overtake another and found herself facing a car that she was unable to avoid. The driver, aged 43, was only slightly injured. The firefighters transported her to the Gonesse hospital center.
The people on the other side unfortunately did not have the same luck. The passenger found herself trapped in the car. When emergency services were able to free her, she was in cardio-respiratory arrest and, despite attempts at resuscitation, the Smur doctor had to declare her dead on the spot. The person who was with her in the vehicle, behind the wheel, was seriously injured.
Emergency services evacuated this 22-year-old woman under escort to Beaujon hospital in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine). She was then in a state of absolute emergency. A total of fifteen firefighters responded to the accident, mobilizing five engines. Traffic was interrupted in both directions on the main road for approximately 2 hours.
The roads of Val-d'Oise have been particularly bereaved in recent weeks. On the night of October 2 to 3, a 24-year-old young man lost his life by running into a pole in Nesles-la-Vallée. Three days earlier, another accident caused the death of a 31-year-old woman in Sagy on the D 28 during a collision which left two others injured.
