Italy is off to a good start. For the first match of the Davis Cup final against the Netherlands, Matteo Berrettini (world number 35) ensured a quiet victory against the Dutchman Van de Zandschulp (number 80).
Berrettini was rather quick to open the scoring in this final, since he only needed a little over an hour (1 hour 18 minutes) to win in two sets (6-4, 6-2). Italy already leads 1-0 in this Davis Cup final, even before the entry of world number one, Jannik Sinner. He is opposed this Sunday, November 24 to Tallon Griekspoor (number 40), while the possible double will pit the pair Simone Bolelli / Andrea Vavassori against that of Wesley Koolhof / Botic Van de Zandschlup.
