The third weekend of competition for the French Cyclo-cross Cup takes place at the Henri-Terré complex in Troyes. France 3 Grand Est invites you to follow live this Sunday, October 24, the Elite Women and Elite Men races of the 6th round of the French cyclo-cross cup. An exclusively digital broadcast to be found on France.tv and on the France 3 Grand Est website.
The start is at 2:05 p.m. for women, and at 3:25 p.m. for men. On site, to make you experience these exceptional races, our sports journalist Clément Meunier comments on the event in the company of Cédric Pineau, a former professional cyclist who is passionate about cycling.
The French cyclo-cross cup takes place over four weekends, running from October to December. In each round, the riders accumulate a score which is added to their results in the other rounds. At the end of the eight rounds of the competition, the rider who has scored the most points respectively wins the Cup in their respective category. The victory allows the best cyclists to qualify for the French championships which will take place on January 12 and 13, 2025 in Pont-Château in Loire-Atlantique.
The first weekend of competition took place on October 19 and 20 in Nommay (Doubs). On the Men's and Women's sides, two competitors won the first two rounds: Loris Rouiller and Marie Schreiber.
During the second weekend, November 9 and 10, Pierric (Loire-Atlantique), Gabriel Timothé won in the third round and David Menut in the fourth. For the women, it was Amandine Fouquenet who took control of the third event while Célia Géry emerged victorious from the fourth.
At the end of the first two weekends, David Menut (168 points) takes the lead in the Men's ranking, and Amandine Fouquenet (165 points) in the Women's category.
This Saturday, November 23, for the 5th round of the third weekend of the Coupe de France in Troyes, David Menut won the race in 58'58''. He thus takes the lead in the general ranking among men with 213 points. He is followed by Rémi Lelandais (192 points) and Gabriel Timothé (189 points). For the women, Anaïs Morichon won in 50'50''. In the provisional general classification, Amandine Muller dominates with 190 points, Amandine Vidon closely follows her with 189 points, and Noémie Garnier comes in third position with 183 points.
