For a 44e year, the Société des écrivain.es de la Mauricie (SÉM) opens the nomination period for the prestigious Prix Clément-Marchand, the literary competition aimed at new voices in literature from Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec

Awarded in prose or poetry, the Clément-Marchand Prize comes with a $1,000 grant (1st prize) offered by Culture Trois-Rivières and a $500 grant (2nd prize – distinction) awarded by Librairie Poirier. The winning text will also be published in the magazine Le Sabord.

The competition is open to anyone aged 18 and over residing in Mauricie or Centre-du-Québec. Please note that professional writers, regular members of the SÉM, former winners of the competition and anyone who has published on their own (with ISBN) cannot submit their application to the competition.

Each participant may submit a single prose text of up to 2,000 words or a poetry proposal of up to 12 pages. Full competition rules and details are available online at ecrivainsmauricie.com.

The texts must be sent no later than September 3 by email to [email protected]. They will then be submitted, under pseudonym, to a jury made up of experienced editors and writers.

The Clément-Marchand Prize will be awarded in October or November 2024. (M.E.B.A.)
