What is radon, this natural radioactive gas? with Catherine Schlouck, in the mag “At the right time!”

Monday to Friday from 12:10 p.m. to 1 p.m. “On time!”

Welcome to the new South-East region magazine of Fréquence Mistral! Every day, a different channel presents the magazine.

From to Briançon via , without forgetting Dignes les Bains, and , a regional magazine, a Mag just for you, live guests, music, cinema, humor, literary chronicles, outings and on various themes that are in the news.

Today we are talking about a natural gas that is still poorly understood, even unknown, radon. However, this gas has been recognized as a definite pulmonary carcinogen for humans since 1987 by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The annual number of lung cancer deaths attributable to radon is estimated at 3,000 deaths annually. Hence the implementation of a prevention policy. Thursday November 7 was European Radon Day, the anniversary date on which Marie Curie discovered radium.

To present this gas and its risks to us, we welcome Catherine Schlouck, presenter at Gap Science Animation 05, or GSA 05.
