The average monthly producer price of broiler chicken recorded, during the month of October, an increase of 18.8% to 6883.1 millimes/kg, compared to the same period of the year 2023, according to an analysis note published Wednesday by the National Agricultural Observatory (ONAGRI).
Compared to the month of September, ONAGRI noted that the average price fell by 1.4%, to stand at 6883.1 mill/kg, compared to 6977.5 mill/kg in September 2024.
The analysis of the evolution of the producer price of live broiler chicken revealed fluctuations, during the month of October 2024, between a maximum of 7418 mill/kg and a minimum of 6480 mill/kg with a downward trend. hence a variation of (-6%) between the start and end of the month.
By region, the average producer price in the center (6916.1 mill/kg) was 0.7% higher than in the north and 0.1% higher than in the south.
The cost of broiler production fell by 4.5% year-on-year (4,205 mill/kg, compared to 4,405 mill/kg) and remained unchanged compared to September 2024.
On the other hand, the production price of eggs for consumption showed, during the month of October 2024, an upward trend, with a variation of 5.8%.
Furthermore, the average price fell by 14.4% compared to that of the same month of 2023 (285.3 mill/unit against 333.2 mill/unit). Compared to September 2024 (273.9 mill/unit), the average price increased by 4.2%.
By region, the average producer price in the North (287.4 mill/unit) was 1.2% higher than that in the South and 0.7% higher than that in the Center.
The cost of producing eggs for consumption fell by 10.9% year-on-year (230.3 mill/unit against 258.6 mill/unit) and saw no variation compared to that of September 2024.
